Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which aTheftAlarm ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the aTheftAlarm mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy applies to the App and all products and services offered by aTheftAlarm.

1. General Data Commitment & Personal Privacy

We strictly respect your privacy. Personal data—including your name, email address, captured photos, and location—is treated as strictly confidential. We does not collect, sell, trade, rent, or lease Users' personal identification information to third parties for marketing or tracking purposes. Any personal data processed through optional features is handled solely to execute the functionality expressly requested by the User.

2. Intruder Selfie Feature & Google Services Integration

The App offers an optional Intruder Selfie feature designed to capture photos upon unauthorized device access attempts. This feature functions strictly on an opt-in basis when Users Sign in with Google and enable specific toggles:

2.1 Google Drive Integration ("Upload photos to Google Drive")

  • Scope of Access: The App requests restricted permission (adhering strictly to the drive.file scope) solely to create a designated folder and upload captured photos to your personal Google Drive.

  • Limitations: The App has no technical capability or authorization to view, read, modify, or delete any other files, folders, or content stored in your Google Drive.

  • User Control: The App only executes photo additions and cannot modify or delete files once uploaded. To manage or remove these photos, Users must manually access their Google Drive account.

2.2 Email Notifications ("Send photo to Gmail")

  • Functionality: Captured photos are attached to an automated notification and transmitted to your registered Gmail address via our backend processing infrastructure.

  • Data Non-Retention: Data processed for email delivery is handled strictly in-transit. We do not store, retain, analyze, or build user profiles from your photos or email content on our servers once transmission is complete.

  • Inbox Authority: Users retain sole, exclusive control over accessing, managing, or deleting emails delivered to their personal Gmail inbox.

2.3 Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy

Our use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

3. Automated Technical Data, Analytics, and Advertising

The App itself does not extract or process personal data automatically. However, to support application performance, crash reporting, and monetization, the App integrates Software Development Kits (SDKs) provided by Google and potentially other trusted analytics/advertising partners in the future:

  • Analytics & Performance (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase): To collect anonymized system diagnostics, crash logs, and general usage metrics aimed at improving App stability.

  • Advertising (e.g., AdMob by Google, and trusted partner networks): To display non-personalized or personalized advertisements (within the Free version of the App).

Third-Party SDK Data Collection:

These third-party providers may automatically collect device-level technical identifiers, such as:

  • Advertising Identifiers (e.g., Apple IDFA, Google GAID)

  • IP Addresses

  • General geographic location data (city/country level)

  • Basic app interaction and diagnostic metrics

This data is gathered directly by third-party services according to their respective privacy policies for ad serving, fraud prevention, and analytics. We do not cross-reference or utilize this data for independent tracking.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate and industry-standard data collection, processing, and security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of technical data processed during App operations.

5. Global Legal Compliance & User Rights

5.1 European Union (GDPR) & California (CCPA/CPRA) Rights

Users globally hold explicit rights regarding their data:

  • Right to Access & Control: You may review, download, or manage all photos uploaded to your Google Drive or delivered to your inbox at any time.

  • Revocation of Access: You can revoke Google Sign-In authorization at any time via your Google Account Security Settings.

  • Ad Tracking Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized ad tracking via your iOS device settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking).

5.2 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in applicable jurisdictions). If we discover that personal information from a child has been processed inadvertently, we will promptly delete such information.

6. Third-Party Links & Services

The App may contain advertisements or links to third-party websites or services. We do not control the privacy practices or content of any third-party destinations and are not responsible for their data collection mechanisms.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. When updated, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically to remain informed about how we protect user privacy.
